CAsting

•We chose to do an open casting as we thought it would be an efficient and quick way or recruiting actors for out music video. We created an eye catching poster with short snappy details to intrigue people. We decided to post it in G15 which is our study room as this meant we would attract the interest of people who are around 17-18 perfect for the look of artist and also so it would be students who attend the same school as us making it easier to communicate and cooperate with them when it came to filming.
•We had several replies to our poster, more girls than boys. We asked each female to lip sync to the song we are doing (Jhene Aiko “Stranger) so we could see how they act. Taking this into consideration as well as their look and style we chose our female lead. Next we had to chose the male lead however as there wasn’t many respondents for this role we went down to the drama department to find boys who were more enthusiastic about acting and this is where we found our male lead
OUR CAST

We chose Leilya as she is passionate about singing, dancing and acting which will all come across good on the camera. Since she was already trained at dancing and acting it will make it easier to work with her as her portrayal will seem very natural in the music video and she will be able to follow direction easy. In addition her confidence really made her stand out amongst the others and made her seem like a natural star

We chose Fred from a very limited amount of males however he had previous experience of being in a music video. This would mean he will be more comfortable on camera. Also we felt his appearance would fit into the classic bad boy image that we wanted the male lead to portray. He wasn’t what we first pictured for our male lead but yet again as we had a very limited choice.
